Our Story

We built the trousers we could never find.

Two petite women. A lifetime of hemming.
One standard, made for petite proportion.

The Origin: Built by two women who couldn't find them either.

Elizabeth is 4'11". Denise is 5'2".

Every pair of trousers came home the same way. Too long. Pinned at the ankle, dropped off, picked up a week later. The waist still sat wrong. The pleats fell in the wrong place. We were told this was just how it goes when you are short.

It is not. The trousers were never made for us. A standard pant cut shorter is still a standard pant. The waist, the rise, the pleats, the line: all drawn for a taller woman, then trimmed at the hem and sold to us as "petite."

So we built trousers we could never buy. Two Filipina founders, done with the hemming loop. Petite isn't a smaller size. It's a different design.

The Heritage & the Mark: The alate, our winged mark.

Our mark is an alate: the winged ant who leaves to build a new colony and becomes its queen. Small in stature. Extraordinary in purpose. She builds the colony. She sets the standard.

It carries the idea this brand was built on, that something made for the way you are, not the way you are told to be, lets you move without thinking about it.

Two Filipina founders, a standard with our roots in it.

What We Made, and Why: A standard, not a smaller size.

We didn't shrink the trousers. We rebuilt them from the waist down, for the way a petite body is actually proportioned. A 26.5-inch length on every size, a true petite ankle length, designed to fit most women whose measured length falls between 25 and 26.5 inches.

A double pleat shaped for the body you have. A waistband that holds and lies flat instead of gapping and rolling. A structured stretch fabric that drapes and holds a tailored line. A clean, tailored straight-leg silhouette. Three true neutrals, chosen to last: Camel, Espresso, and Midnight. A wardrobe, not a trend.

We made one trouser, and we made it right. That's the standard. For Petite. By Petite.

Cut and Sewn in Los Angeles. Inspected Before It Ships.

Made in USA of imported fabric: every pair is cut and sewn in our Los Angeles workroom and inspected before it leaves. We founded The Petite Standard in 2026 and kept the first release to 300 pairs on purpose, close enough to watch every step, so the pair you open is the pair we meant to make.

These are our own shots from the floor where it is made, so the work behind the $295 is something you can see, not something we ask you to take on faith.

Your petite standard. Made for petite proportion.
